The BPC kicked off Near Year's 2005 with its first
trail cleaning event at Weber Woods in the Cockaponset
State Park in Westbrook. Some 26 volunteers helped
reroute a 1/3rd mile stretch of an existing multi-use
trail to make it less environmentally fragile, closed
the old trail, widened and repaired the park's entrance
on Route 145, and rerouted a streambed to protect
the entrance. As a bonus the group collected four
bags of trash.
