The moving of a trail segment in Cockaponset State Park

January 2, 2005

Re-directing the stream Fixing up the entrance to the Woods More trail repair

The BPC kicked off Near Year's 2005 with its first trail cleaning event at Weber Woods in the Cockaponset State Park in Westbrook. Some 26 volunteers helped reroute a 1/3rd mile stretch of an existing multi-use trail to make it less environmentally fragile, closed the old trail, widened and repaired the park's entrance on Route 145, and rerouted a streambed to protect the entrance. As a bonus the group collected four bags of trash.
